Resources for Educators
Outdoor Learning at Baltimore City Schools
Taking students outdoors for learning experiences offers a multitude of benefits that go beyond traditional classroom settings. Immersion in nature provides a rich sensory experience that stimulates curiosity, creativity, and exploration. Physical activity associated with outdoor learning also promotes health and well-being, while the dynamic outdoor environment encourages collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

Farm to School Website
The Baltimore City Public Schools Farm to School (F2S) program promotes experiential education that connects students to nature and food systems. Hence, Great Kids Farm is a hub for hands-on Farm to School opportunities. While much of the same information is found here on our website, you may want to dig deeper and check out their videos and stories.
Sustainability Plan
City Schools’ dedication to sustainability involves reducing the ecological footprint of facilities, educating school communities about the link between their daily behaviors and environmental conservation, and inspiring students to become proactive leaders in fostering a greener and more sustainable school district, city, and community.
